Ottawa Senators sign five forwards to one-year, $775,000 contracts
The Ottawa Senators have made multiple signings up front, bringing in centers Garrett Pilon & Rourke Chartier and wingers Bokondji Imama, Matthew Highmore, & Josh Currie to matching one-year, $775,000 contracts,
Pilon, 25, was a group 6 unrestricted free agent after finishing a two-year contract with a $750,000 cap hit with the Washington Capitals. He played 53 regular season games with the Hershey Bears in the AHL this season, with 11 goals, 18 assists, and 29 points, along with 4 goals, 6 assists, and 10 points in 20 playoff games to help capture the Bears 12th Calder Cup championship.
Chartier, 27, re-signs with the Senators after the conclusion of his one-year, $750,000 contract that he signed last offseason. He got into six games with the Senators this season where he was held pointless, and played 40 games for the Belleville Senators in the AHL where he had 20 goals, 8 assists, and 28 points.
Imama, 26, was a group 6 unrestricted free agent after finishing a one-year, $750,000 contract that he signed with the Arizona Coyotes. He played five games with the Coyotes in the NHL, and was held pointless in that span. He also played 50 regular season games for the Tucson Roadrunners in the AHL with 5 goals, 10 assists, and 15 points, along with three playoff games where he was held pointless.
Highmore, 27, was an unrestricted free agent after the conclusion of his one-year, $750,000 that he signed with the St. Louis Blues in 2022. He played two games with the Blues, going without a point in either game. He also played 68 regular season games with the Springfield Thunderbirds in the AHL where he had 19 goals, 42 assists, and 61 points, along with two playoff games where he was held pointless.
Currie, 30, was an unrestricted free agent after two seasons with Magnitogorsk Metallurg in the KHL. In 2022-23, he played 48 games, where he had 3 goals, 9 assists, and 12 points.
