The Ottawa Senators bolstered their depth on Monday, signing forward Jan Jenik and defenseman Cameron Crotty to two-year contracts.

Jenik’s new deal is for just the 2025-26 season, while Crotty put pen to paper on a two-year contract. According to Puckpedia, Jenik’s contract is worth $775,000 in the NHL and $285,000 in the minors, with Crotty’s coming in at $775,000 in the NHL and $200,000 in the minors for the first year of the deal, before rising to $850,000 and $350,000 in 2026-27.

Crotty’s deal comes with a $812,500 hit against the Senators’ salary cap.

The 24-year-old Jenik spent most of the 2024-25 season with the Senators AHL affiliate, the Bellville Senators, where he scored 12 goals and 29 points in 52 games, earning himself two games with the NHL club.

The 65th overall pick in the 2018 NHL Draft by the Arizona Coyotes, he has spent most of his professional career in the AHL, but has scored four goals and six points in his 24 NHL appearances between the Coyotes and Senators.

He came to the Senators organization from the Utah Mammoth on July 3, 2024, in a trade for Egor Sokolov.

Crotty, 26, was also a draft pick by the Coyotes, who selected him 82nd overall in the 2017 NHL Draft. The 6-foot-5 blueliner spent four seasons with the Tucson Roadrunners in the AHL before joining the Minnesota Wild’s minor league team in Iowa last season.

He has just two NHL games under his belt between Arizona and Minnesota, but posted 10 assists in 64 AHL games in 2024-25.

After returning to the Stanley Cup Playoffs in 2024-25, the Senators will look to continue their progress in 2025-26 and look ahead to their first game of the NHL regular season on Oct. 9 against the Tampa Bay Lightning
