Panthers sign Anton Lundell to six-year, $30 million contract

The Florida Panthers were able to lock up one of the key contributors in their first Stanley Cup championship in franchise history.

The team announced they signed forward Anton Lundell to a six-year deal, with PuckPedia reporting the deal is worth $30 million with an AAV of $5 million.

“Anton has matured into a dependable multirole center for our club, who seized his opportunity from his first day in North America,” Panthers’ President of Hockey Ops. and General Manager Bill Zito said in a press release. “His commitment to improvement and cerebral approach to the game earned him the profound respect of his teammates and coaches, and we are excited to see him continue to grow and succeed with the Panthers.”
The 22-year-old Lundell scored 13 goals and 22 assists for 35 points, including a career-high 54.9 percent faceoff winning percentage in 78 games last season. In the Stanley Cup Playoffs, Lundell scored three goals and 14 assists for 17 points in 24 games, tied for second in assists among Florida skaters. He also led the Panthers in assists in the Stanley Cup Final with five.
The 6-foot-1 native of Espoo, Finland has 43 goals and 69 assists for 112 points in 216 career regular-season games with the Panthers between 2021-22 and 2023-24, while in 54 playoff games, he has six goals and 22 assists for 28 points.
Taken No. 12 overall in the 2020 NHL Entry Draft, Lundell spent three seasons with HIFK Helsinki in the top Finnish men’s league, where he would score 35 goals and 37 assists for 72 points in 108 regular-season games.
