In the 2025 Stanley Cup Playoffs, not a single series was a sweep. But after six days of playoff hockey in 2026, we’ve already seen three series’ position themselves for a sweep – the Philadelphia Flyers over the Pittsburgh Penguins, the Carolina Hurricanes over the Ottawa Senators, and the Colorado Avalanche over the Los Angeles Kings.

But how many of those three teams will actually sweep their series? Tyler Yaremchuk and Carter Hutton talked about which of Philadelphia, Carolina and Colorado they liked to finish their series in four games on Daily Faceoff Live.

Carter Hutton: I think we get a minimum of two. I think that’s an easy bet here with the way these series’ have gone. I think the Avs sweep, and then I think the Sens could find a way to get a game.

What I’ve seen from the Penguins so far just gives me no reason to think they have a chance in even winning a game in this series. It seems like they’re outclassed, they’re out-goaltended, up and down the lineup with the Philadelphia Flyers.

So those would be the two if I was to pick them. Those would be the two that I think are going to be sweeps.

Tyler Yaremchuk: I think I’m going [two] as well, but I think I’ll differ from you. I think Colorado’s got it. I think Carolina is going to have it too. I just wouldn’t be surprised if Ottawa didn’t have a ton of fight going into that fourth game.

I think Pittsburgh might be able to dig deep and steal one here. They just looked so bad. And again, as much as I laughed about the Kings deserving to get their ass kicked, they do, but at least Pittsburgh-Philly, it was a tighter matchup.

So I’m gonna say Pittsburgh is the one that stays alive, but I will agree with you on [two].
