Flyers place Egor Zamula on injured reserve; Aleksei Kolosov recalled

The Philadelphia Flyers have placed defenseman Egor Zamula on the injured reserve, reports Jackie Spiegel of the Philadelphia Inquirer.
Sidelined for the past four games with an upper-body injury, Zamula’s last appearance came January 23 versus the Metropolitan Division rival New York Rangers where through 19:07 in ice time he finished with a minus-two rating en route to a 6-1 road loss.
On the season, Zamula has seen 39 showings in which he has registered three goals and eight assists for 11 points with two penalty minutes and a minus-10 rating. Skating in his fifth season with the Flyers, the Russian-born blue-liner wrapped up 2023-24 with 21 points counting five goals and 16 assists through 66 contests.
A graduate of the WHL’s Calgary Hitmen, Zamula joined the Flyers in 2018 as an undrafted free agent. Through 131 career contests, the 24-year-old blue-liner has notched eight goals and 28 assists for 36 points.
Per PuckPedia, Zamula is in the first year of a two-year contract that carries a $1.7-million annual average value.
Beyond Zamula, the Flyers made a second transaction Friday, recalling goaltender Aleksei Kolosov from the Lehigh Valley Phantoms, reports Spiegel.
Through seven appearances with the Phantoms this season, Kolosov has posted a 2-4-1 record with an .874 save percentage and 3.59 goals-against average. Originally chosen by the Flyers in the third round the 2021 NHL Draft, the 23-year-old Belarusian netminder made his NHL debut with Philadelphia earlier this season. In all, through 15 appearances, Kolosov went 4-8-1 with an .870 save percentage and 3.45 goals-against average.
Posting a 23-24-6 record on the season, the Flyers sit five points shy of the Columbus Blue Jackets for the second wildcard seed in the Eastern Conference. Philadelphia has dropped its past two contests but will look to return to the win column Sunday against the Colorado Avalanche.
