Flyers sign Devin Kaplan to entry-level contract

Devin Kaplan has signed a three-year, entry-level contract with the Philadelphia Flyers, per his representatives Bartlett Hockey. The new contract will begin in the current campaign, with Kaplan expected to make his NHL debut Thursday in the Flyers’ season finale against the Buffalo Sabres.
Originally chosen by the Flyers in the third round of the 2022 NHL Draft, the budding right winger has spent the past three seasons with the NCAA’s Boston University Terriers. Through 38 appearances in 2024-25, Kaplan finished with 10 goals and eight assists for 18 points coupled with a minus-eight rating and a team-leading 65 penalty minutes. In all, through three seasons with the Terriers, Kaplan totaled 25 goals and 39 assists for 64 points through 115 career contests.
Prior to committing to the Terriers, Kaplan spent two seasons with the U.S. National Development Team highlighted by his freshman campaign where through 30 games he put up six goals and 18 assists for 24 points. In all, through two seasons with the program, Kaplan collected 27 goals and 53 assists for 80 points through 101 outings.
A 21-year-old native of Bridgewater, N.J., Kaplan has also seen success in international competition highlighted by a silver-medal victory with Team USA at the 2022 IIHF Under-18 World Championship where through six appearances he scored once and added five assists for six points.
In signing his entry-level contract, Kaplan becomes the third player to agree to terms with Philadelphia in recent weeks joining Arizona Sun Devils defenseman Ty Murchison as well as Michigan State Spartans forward Karsen Dorwart.
For the Flyers, on the season the club stands 33-37-10 and second-to-last in the Eastern Conference with 76 points. Philadelphia will close out the final two games of its regular-season schedule Tuesday against the Metropolitan Division rival Columbus Blue Jackets and Thursday versus the Sabres.
