The Philadelphia Flyers have signed forward Joel Farabee to a six-year contract extension, the club announced Thursday.

The long-term deal will pay the 21-year-old an AAV of $5-million and take him to his final year of RFA eligibility upon the completion of the deal. Farabee currently has one year left on his entry-level contract and the extension kicks in at the start of the 2022-23 season.

A native of Cicero, N.Y., Farabee was drafted by the Flyers in the first round of the 2018 draft and has appeared in 107 NHL games over the last two years scoring 28 goals and 31 points.

This past year was his most successful as he scored 20 goals and 38 points in 55 games with the Flyers.

Year 1 – $1-million salary, $2-million signing bonus
Year 2 – $2.25-m salary, $2-million sb
Year 3 – $3-m salary, $2-million sb
Year 4 – $4.25-million salary, $1.5-million sb
Year 5+6 – $6-million salary
