As per Philadelphia Flyers head coach John Tortorella, forward Travis Konecny and defenseman Jamie Drysdale will both be held out of the lineup in tonight’s game against the Tampa Bay Lightning.

Konecny is considered day-to-day with an upper-body injury and currently leads the Flyers with 27 goals and 27 assists for 54 points. He had not missed a game in 2023-24 before the injury.

Drysdale was injured in Sunday’s 7-6 loss to the Pittsburgh Penguins after receiving a hit from Penguins forward Jansen Harkins. Drysdale is considered week-to-week with an upper-body injury. He has notched four points in 17 games since arriving in Philly after the blockbuster deal that sent Flyers prospect Cutter Gauthier out West to Anaheim in exchange for the 21-year-old defenseman. The injury is a cause for concern as it is the same shoulder that Drysdale injured during the 2022-23 campaign which limited him to just eight games.

Meanwhile, the Flyers also announced that Rasmus Ristolainen has been placed on injured reserve with an upper-body injury and will be out week-to-week. There is no clear timeline for a return for the monster Finnish defender, the Flyers announced he will miss at least two or three weeks and will undergo a procedure to determine the full extent of his injury.

Subsequently, the Flyers recalled Bobby Brink from the Lehigh Valley Phantoms of the American Hockey League (AHL). Brink has notched seven goals and 11 assists for 18 points in 38 games this season with the Flyers. He has dominated the AHL, racking up 11 points in 11 games after a 28-point campaign last season. Tortorella did not confirm whether or not Brink would slot into tonight’s lineup.

The Flyers currently sit third in the Metropolitan Division with a 30-22-7 record and 67 points through 59 games. They sit one point ahead of the Washington Capitals and seven points behind the second-place Carolina Hurricanes.
