Every vote for this year’s NHL Awards is available to be viewed by fans.

On Saturday, the Professional Hockey Writer’s Association published the 194 ballots of each of the voters in order to be fully transparent.

“The 2023-24 NHL season was one for the record books,” PHWA president and Daily Faceoff insider Frank Seravalli said in a release. “Where hockey fans were treated to one of the most hotly debated Hart Trophy races in recent memory. Once again, the PHWA delivered with an honest and fair voting process that, in the end, recognized extremely deserving winners…With more attention and scrutiny on our ballots than ever before, we’ve also put more time and thought into the process.”

This is the seventh year the organization has made its ballots available to the general public. This season’s contingent featured 175 members and 21 invited international broadcasters.

The big stunner coming out on the night of the awards was how unanimous the voters were in favor of Colorado Avalanche forward Nathan MacKinnon. The Cole Harbour, Nova Scotia native received 152 out of a possible 194 first-place votes for the Hart Trophy. Most of the other first-place votes were in favor of Artemi Panarin and Connor McDavid, though Seth Rorabaugh of the Pittsburgh Tribune-Review went off the board and voted for Winnipeg Jets goaltender Connor Hellebuyck.

Quinn Hughes won the Norris Trophy by a landslide, with no other players outside of Avalanche blueliners Cale Makar and Roman Josi from the Nashville Predators receiving first-place votes.

While Connor Bedard of the Chicago Blackhawks was the favorite to win the Calder Trophy as Rookie of the Year, there was a hefty amount of support for Minnesota Wild star Brock Faber.

While the PHWA doesn’t vote on the Vezina Trophy as the league’s best goaltender, it was apparent the voters were in agreement with the NHL’s general managers. Of the 194 ballots, only four did not use their first-place ballot to choose Hellebuyck, who won the Vezina for the second time in his career.
