According to Pittsburgh Tribune-Review reporter Seth Rorabaugh, head coach Mike Sullivan says Malkin going on IR is more procedural, as the move was made in order to activate Tomasino. Sullivan added that Malking was “day to day,” and that Tomasino would be available to play Sunday against the Tampa Bay Lightning.
Also per Sullivan,
-Evgeni Malkin going on injured reserve is more procedural to activate Philip Tomasino for injured reserve. Malkin remains day to day.
-Tomasino is available to play today.
-Tristan Jarry is in the hill today.
