Tyler Yaremchuk: Let’s jump right into it courtesy of our friends at PointsBet Canada. Starting with the matchup between the Vancouver Canucks and the Seattle Kraken. The Canucks are one in four on the road so far this month and are aging in their second of back-to-back games. So far this season the Kraken has a winning record at home in the month of January and if you’re going to give me that kind of juice on the Puckline I will take it all day. It’s sitting at +145 and that is a great spot for the Kraken who host a Canucks team that is playing in their second of back-to-back games.
The second play I like is also in the Western Conference and Pacific Division, we are looking at the Edmonton Oilers who are massive favourites to beat the St. Louis Blues. But, there’s no value on this, so I’m not laying -155 to take a team on the Puckline. But, there’s a player I like in this game and that’s Zach Hyman. Hyman has eight assists in his last five games, and eight apples in his last five and you’re going to give me -130 to pick one up in a game where they should score a ton against the Columbus Blue Jackets? Evander Kane is out of the lineup too, so that means Hyman might get a few more reps with the big guns I like Hyman’s assist and the Hyman shot prop. All in on Zach Hyman, he’s hit this shot prop in three of his last five games. No Kane means more minutes for Hyman and the NHL’s first star of the week is red hot and I have no problem backing him on a couple of bets.
