Tyler Yaremchuk: Let’s jump right into it courtesy of our friends at PointsBet Canada. Starting with the Florida Panthers vs Tampa Bay Lightning, not a lot of travel is needed for the Lightning headed into this game and I just don’t think this is quite priced right. The Bolts are set -121, despite being the better team and have been all year and as of late, they were 8-2-0 headed into the All-Star Break. The Panthers have been alright, they went 5-3-2 and they haven’t been great on home ice this season. I think this is a nice spot to pick up the Bolts, it’s very rare you ever see them at -121 and they were rolling headed into the break. We could also be getting Andrei Vasilevskiy versus Sergei Bobrovsky which would give them the edge between the pipes.
So you know what, coming out of the All-Star break can be a bit weird so if you’re going to give me +310 on more or less any team to win a hockey game I will be tempted to buy it. You know the reason I’m tempting this is that the Dallas Stars were kind of struggling heading into the All-Star break, they had lost three games in overtime and the Anaheim Ducks have been playing well and they only sent one player to the All-Star game and that was Troy Terry; so maybe there’s the element of them being rested. They’ve won three in a row heading into the break including beating the Colorado Avalanche so I really like the Ducks in this slate at +310. I am taking the Ducks as underdogs.
