PointsBet Daily Picks: Taking the over on Flyers vs Panthers & MacKinnon assist prop

Tyler Yaremchuk joined Frank Seravalli and Colby Cohen on Wednesday’s edition of Daily Faceoff Live for another PointsBet Daily Picks segment.

With the Flyers and Panthers set to square off tonight, could betting the over be the right call? Nathan MacKinnon looks to seek out another multi-assist game, and can Kyle Connor put up another 3.5 shots? Yaremchuk has you covered.

Tyler Yaremchuk: It’s a short slate in the NHL tonight so let’s dig into it courtesy of our friends over at PointsBet Canada. Starting with a little over action between the Flyers and the Panthers. The Panthers have seen the over cash in two of their three games so far this season. For the Flyers, it’s only a hit on of three games but they’re playing on back-to-backs and won’t have Carter Hart between the pipes and you know no Aaron Ekblad for the Panthers either. Maybe that defense is turning over a few more pucks, I think the recipe is here for this game to go over 6.5 goals at -110. 

My first player prop of the day is the Nathan MacKinnon assist prop. -135 but I think this just isn’t set right. So far this season he had two assists in the opener, one assist in the second game and two assists in the third game. Right there, he’s hit three in a row, he’s easily hit it in a couple of games. So, -135 for Nate Mack in the assist column. 

Finally, wrapping it up with my shot prop of the day and I’m going Kyle Connor with over 3.5 shots on goal. He hit it once but missed it by one shot in the other game. I like him to go over it tonight, it’s paying +100. So there we go Frank, over 6.5 in Philly and Florida, Nate Mack assists, and Kyle Connor over 3.5 shots on goal.
