Porter Martone, Michael Misa highlight CHL’s roster for 2025 NHL Draft showcase series against USNTDP
The Canadian Hockey League (CHL) has announced their roster for the first-ever CHL USA Draft Showcase that will take place on Nov. 26 at the Budweiser Gardens in London, with the Tribute Communities Centre in Oshawa welcoming the two teams on Nov. 27.
USA will ice its National Team Development Program roster, which competes against USHL and NCAA competition all season long.
According to the CHL, teams will win two points for a victory, no matter if it comes in regulation, overtime, or a shootout. If tied after 60 minutes, a five-minute, 3-on-3 overtime will occur, with a three-round shootout available if needed. If the series is tied 1-1 after the second game, both teams will play sudden-death, 3-on-3 overtime to determine an overall series winner.
Of note, projected top-10 prospect and Brandon Wheat Kings forward Roger McQueen is injured and will not participate. McQueen has eight goals and 11 points in eight WHL games, with four goals coming in the season opener against the Moose Jaw Warriors.
Notable players on the roster include 2025 top prospects Porter Martone of the Brampton Steelheads and Michael Misa of the Memorial Cup champions Saginaw Spirit. Martone has tallied 20 points in nine games this season, while Misa has an OHL-leading 14 goals and 21 points in 10 games.
Vancouver Giants forward Cameron Schmidt leads the WHL with 12 goals and 19 points in 11 games, while Carter Bear of the Everett Silvertips has racked up 15 points in 10 games.
Justin Carbonneau of the Blainville-Boisbriand Armada leads all QMJHL draft-eligible prospects with 16 points in 11 games
The roster features 10 OHL players, 10 WHL players and two QMJHL players. The Brampton Steelheads, Calgary Hitmen and Erie Otters each have two players representing their clubs.
