The Nashville Predators have announced that defenseman Jeremy Lauzon will be out week-to-week with a lower-body injury.

The 27-year-old has racked up one assist, 103 hits and 31 blocked shots in 22 games while averaging 18:33 of ice time.

The Val-d’Or, Quebec product was originally selected No. 52 overall by the Boston Bruins in the 2015 NHL Draft. He spent three seasons with the Bruins before the Seattle Kraken selected him in the expansion draft in 2021. During the 2021-22 NHL trade deadline, Lauzon was dealt to the Predators. Lauzon quickly established himself with the Preds, notching two goals and seven points, including one goal in 13 games with the Predators.

Nashville re-signed Lauzon to a four-year, $8 million contract that has an average annual value (AAV) of $2 million. He is currently in year three of that deal and it will expire at the end of the 2025-2026 season where Lauzon will end up being an unrestricted free agent.

The Predators are currently 7-12-3 with 17 points in 22 games and rank seventh in the Central Division. Nashville is slated to face the Philadelphia Flyers on Wednesday, the Tampa Bay Lightning on Friday and the Minnesota Wild on Saturday.
