Nashville Predators’ defenseman Roman Josi left Tuesday’s game against the Calgary Flames with a lower-body injury and did not return.

The injury occurred sometime in the first period. After Josi didn’t return in the second period, the team announced ahead of the third that he would not come back.

The 34-year-old Josi has seven goals and 16 assists for 23 points in 29 games, averaging more than 25 minutes per game with the Predators this year. Now in his 14th NHL season, Josi has 188 goals and 521 assists for 709 points in 938 career regular-season games.
