In eight games with New York last season, Levy went 1-5-2 with a .906 SV% and 3.07 GAA. She backstopped New York to their first-ever home-ice victory on Feb. 21 against PWHL Montreal, taking it 3-2 in a shootout.
“Knowing that Abbey is back and part of our group of goalkeepers not only makes our team better but also improves every teammate who is part of it,” New York General Manager Pascal Daoust said in a team statement. “At her age, her size, and her skills, she is undoubtedly a good athlete with whom we can continue to develop her potential, performance, and achieve our greatest goals.”
Taken in the 11th round of the 2023 PWHL Draft, Levy split her college career between Minnesota State University and Boston College. Her best two seasons were with Boston College, where in 2021-22 she compiled an 18-14-1 record with a .932 SV%, then followed that up in 2022-23 with a 16-13-1 record, a .947 SV% and a 1.77 GAA.
“Signing an extension with my hometown team in New York is truly special,” Levy said in a team statement. “The fan base here is absolutely amazing, and I can’t wait to keep playing for our city.
“I’m eager to deepen our connection with the amazing supporters who make New York such a special place.”
Levy is the second goalie to re-sign with New York this offseason, as Corrine Schroeder signed a two-year extension. They join 11 returning skaters, including Alex Carpenter, Jade Downie-Landry, Abby Roque, Ella Shelton and more.
