The 27-year-old Tabin was given a major penalty and game misconduct in the first period of last Tuesday’s game against the New York Sirens after delivering an illegal check to the head of Sirens’ forward Jessie Eldridge.
“The Player Safety Committee determined that Tabin extended her right elbow outward when delivering a high and forceful check, and that the head was the main point of contact on the play where such contact was avoidable,” the league said in a statement.
As for Boyd, she was also assessed a major penalty and game misconduct midway through the third period of last Wednesday’s game against the Boston Fleet, laying an illegal check to the head on Fleet forward Alina Muller .
“The Player Safety Committee determined that Boyd extended her stick to deliver a forceful cross check to the head while her opponent was in a vulnerable position,” the league said in a statement.
For Tabin and Boyd, it was the first time both players have been suspended during their PWHL careers.
In 27 games this season, Tabin has four goals and three assists for seven points and 23 penalty minutes with the Victoire.
Meanwhile, Boyd, 24, has three assists and 25 penalty minutes in 21 games with the Charge this season.
