PWHL Toronto announced Tuesday the signing of 2024 seventh-round pick Raygan Kirk to a two-year agreement through the 2025-26 season.

The 23-year-old spent five seasons playing college hockey, two with Robert Morris University, then transferring to Ohio State for her final three seasons. During the 2023-24 campaign, Kirk compiled a 22-2-0 record, 10 shutouts, a 1.05 GAA and .945 SV%, backstopping the Buckeyes to a National Chanmpionship.

Internationally, she started every game for Canada at the 2019 IIHF U18 Women’s World Championship, being named tournament MVP and helping Canada earn gold.

“I am incredibly excited to officially sign with PWHL Toronto,” Kirk said in a team statement. “I can’t wait to get to know the team, experience life in Toronto, and play in front of an incredible fan base!”

Toronto General Manager Gina Kingsbury says the club is excited to have Kirk join their roster.

“She has had to earn her starting position at the collegiate level, and through that demonstrated a drive to continuously get better regardless of playing time,” Kingsbury said. “Raygan is a competitor, a great teammate in the locker room and has a tremendous amount of potential. She will be a great addition to our roster.”

The signing comes less than a week after former Toronto goalie Erica Howe, who spent the 2023-24 season serving as Kristen Campbell’s backup, announced her retirement via Instagram.

With Howe’s retirement, this paves the way for Kirk to serve in a backup roll with the club in 2024-25.
