Report: Sirens sign Jincy Rose, Taylor Girard

The New York Sirens appear to have added two major pieces to their lineup for the 2025-26 season.

According to The Hockey News’ Ian Kennedy, the Sirens have signed defender Jincy Roese and forward Taylor Girard. Terms are either deal were not disclosed.

Roese, 28, is coming off a strong 2024-25 campaign that saw her finish with three goals and 11 assists for 14 points in 27 games. Her 14 points put her fifth in league scoring among defenders. Taken by Ottawa in the third round of the 2023 PWHL Draft, Roese has three goals and 16 assists for 19 points in 51 career PWHL games.

In college, Roese spent four seasons with The Ohio State Buckeyes, scoring 17 goals and 82 assists for 99 points in 147 games played. In her last season, she had seven goals and 24 assists for 31 points in 38 games.

As for Girard, the 26-year-old winger split her season between the Sirens and Boston Fleet following a trade that saw the Fleet acquire her from New York in exchange for forward Jill Saulnier. In 23 combined games, Girard had one goal and two assists for three points and 16 penalty minutes.

In two PWHL seasons, Girard has compiled five goals and four assists for nine points in 46 career regular-season games. In her previous two seasons, she was a member of the PHF’s Connecticut Whale, scoring 21 goals and 31 assists for 52 points in 44 games.

Girard spent five seasons playing college hockey at Lindenwood University, scoring 32 goals and 37 assists for 69 points and 85 penalty minutes in 105 career games.

The Sirens finished the 2024-25 regular season with an 8-4-5-13 record and 37 points, last in the PWHL standings. It was the second consecutive season they were last in the league.
