Sabres sign Nicolas Aube-Kubel, Dennis Gilbert and Jacob Bryson to contracts

The Buffalo Sabres announced that the club has signed forward Nicolas Aube-Kubel, as well as defensemen Dennis Gilbert and Jacob Bryson to contracts on July 1.

Aube-Kubel is signing a one-year, $1.5 million contract, Aube-Kubel spent the 2023-24 season with eh Washington Capitals where he tallied six goals and 10 assists for 16 points in 60 games. He also appeared in three Stanely Cup Playoff contests but was held pointless. The 28-year-old won a Stanley Cup with the Colorado Avalanche in the 2021-22 season. Through 282 games, Aube-Kubel has tallied 31 goals and 78 points with the Philadelphia Flyers, Toronto Maple Leafs, Avalanche and Capitals.

Bryson is signing a one-year, $900,000 contract, this comes just one day after the Sabres did not qualify Bryson’s contract. Bryson appeared in 36 games with Buffalo during the 2023-24 season registering one goal and seven assists.

Gilbert is signing a one-year contract worth $8250,000. The 27-year-old spent the 2023-24 season with the Calgary Flames where he tallied one goal and six assists for seven points in 35 games. Gilbert has bounced around throughout his career so far having stints with the Chicago Blackhawks, Colorado Avalanche and Flames.
