The San Jose Sharks have placed right winger Walker Duehr on waivers, reports Sportsnet’s Chris Johnston.

Through eight games with the Sharks this season, Duehr has scored twice while registering a minus-five rating. Duehr also saw 20 appearances with the Flames’ AHL affiliate, the Calgary Wranglers, where he approached point-per-game production with 11 goals and eight assists alongside eight penalty minutes and a plus-five rating.

Monday’s transaction marks the third this season that Duehr has been placed on waivers. In early October, Duehr was waived by the Flames and later assigned to the Wranglers.

In all, through 92 NHL appearances with the Flames and Sharks, Duehr has totaled 11 goals and 10 assists for 21 points. Duehr has impressed at the AHL level, totaling 127 games over five seasons in which he has registered 37 goals and 32 assists for 69 points.

A graduate of the NCAA’s Minnesota State Mavericks, Duehr was a four-time regular season champion at the collegiate level. The 27-year-old native of Sioux Falls, S.D., also captured the Clark Cup as part of the USHL’s Tri-City Storm in 2016.

Duehr originally signed with the Flames in 2021 as an undrafted free agent. Per PuckPedia, Duehr is in the final year of a two-year contract that carries an $825,000 annual average value and can become an unrestricted free agent this coming offseason.

For the Sharks, on the season the club sits at the bottom of the NHL standings with a 15-37-9 record. Having won only one of their past 10 games, the Sharks will look to return to the win column when the club retakes the ice Monday against the Toronto Maple Leafs.
