The Nashville Predators made waves this summer by signing former Tampa Bay Lightning captain and two-time Stanley Cup champion, Steven Stamkos, as well as Brady Skjei and 2023 Conn Smythe winner, Jonathan Marchessault.

The Preds seemed to have formed a team that could be considered contenders, however, they are off to a 0-5-0 start and fingers are starting to be pointed at who to blame.

Today on Daily Faceoff LIVE, hosts Tyler Yaremchuk and Jonny Lazarus chatted about whether or not Predators head coach Andrew Brunette should be on the hot seat for the team’s horrible start.

Brunette’s record with Nashville over the last two seasons is 47-35-5 through 87 games.

Tyler Yaremchuk: Jonny, any coaches you’re willing to say are on the hot seat already, just six to eight games into the year?

Jonny Lazarus: Well, off the top of my head, I felt like coming into the year, Mike Sullivan would be the one. But I feel like now, and obviously, after talking with Colby and many people around the league, it seems like Sullivan will finish out his time with Sid, Malkin and Letang. It just seems like that’s the right way to go about it.

Jonny Lazarus: But you’d have to look right now at Nashville and point your finger at Andrew Burnette, right? I feel like he’s the obvious one if the Predators continue to slump to start the year. I wouldn’t say the Preds are like – they’re weird, right? Because last year it was kind of like figuring out who they were, and now all of a sudden are they in a win-now window? They probably are, right, just because of who they brought in this summer and the age that they’re all at, and they start 0-5 to kick off the year. So there has to be no one else that comes to the top of my mind, I feel like, than Andrew Burnette right now.
