St. Louis Blues acquire Radek Faksa from Dallas Stars

According to Daily Faceoff’s Frank Seravalli, the St. Louis Blues have acquired forward Radek Faksa from the Dallas Stars for future considerations.

Faksa tallied seven goals and 12 assists for 19 points in 74 games last season with the Stars, he added one goal in eight Stanley Cup Playoff contests.

The 30-year-old is in the final year of a five-year contract that has a cap hit of $3,250,000. Faksa is set to become an unrestricted free agent in July 2025.

Faksa was originally drafted by the Stars in the first round, No. 13 overall, of the 2012 NHL Draft and has spent nine seasons with the franchise. He made his NHL debut in 2015-16, appearing in 45 regular season games collecting 12 points in that frame. Faksa got his first taste of Stanley Cup Playoff action that same season, appearing in 13 games with the Stars.

The Vitkov, Czech Republic, product has totalled 89 goals and 111 assists for 200 points and 356 penalty minutes in 638 career regular season games with Dallas. He has added nine goals and 11 assists for 20 points in 79 postseason contests. Faksa won a Calder Cup with the Texas Stars during the 2013-14 campaign and scored four goals in 21 games.

Prior to his pro career, Faksa spent time in the Ontario Hockey League (OHL) where he tallied 59 goals and 86 assists for 145 points in 160 OHL games. He was named to the OHL All-Rookie Team and was a finalist for the OHL Rookie of the Year award in 2011-12.
