Blues’ Colton Parayko to undergo scope on left knee; will be re-evaluated in six weeks

The St. Louis Blues’ Stanley Cup Playoff hopes took a hit on Thursday, with the club announcing that defenseman Colton Parayko will be out for the near future.
Blues General Manager and President of Hockey Operations Doug Armstrong announced that Parayko, 31, will undergo a scope on his left knee, after suffering an injury in Wednesday’s 3-2 shootout win over the LA Kings.
While the Blues set no timeline on his return, they will re-evaluate Parayko’s status in six weeks, bringing him to mid-April and potentially after the Blues’ final regular season game against the Utah Hockey Club on April 15.

— Jeremy Rutherford (@jprutherford) March 6, 2025A native of St. Albert, Alberta, Parayko has played 62 games for the Blues in 2024-25, scoring a career-high 15 goals and 35 points, ranking 21st among NHL defensemen in scoring while averaging 23:51 of ice time per game.
Parayko previously hit 35 points in 2017-18, scoring just four goals to reach the mark, before helping the Blues to the 2019 Stanley Cup championship the following season.
In addition to his season with the Blues, Parayko played a key role on Team Canada’s 4 Nations Face-Off championship team, making international headlines with a fight against Team USA center, J.T. Miller.
Representing Canada, Parayko has a silver medal at the 2017 IIHF World Championship to go along with the 4 Nations Face-Off title.
Through 721 regular-season games, Parayko has 76 goals and 294 points, while establishing himself as one of the NHL’s elite blueliners since debuting with St. Louis in the 2015-16 season.
The Blues sit fourth in the Western Conference wild-card standings on 66 points, one point short of the Calgary Flames, who hold the second and final Wild Card spot on 67 points. The Vancouver Canucks sit between, also on 67 points.
St. Louis will not play again until after Friday’s NHL Trade Deadline, as they are set to visit the Anaheim Ducks on Friday night.
