Blues’ Dillon Dube out at least eight weeks with neck injury

On Saturday, St. Louis Blues general manager Alexander Steen announced that forward Dillon Dube is expected to miss at least eight weeks due to a neck injury.
Dube was hurt during the Blues’ matchup with the San Jose Sharks on Thursday night. In the first period, Dube was going for a loose puck along with Sharks forward Will Smith. The two came together, with Smith knocking Dube off balance, and the latter went head-first into the corner boards.
Dube was able to play the rest of the game, registering 11:07 of ice time across 15 shifts. He also scored his first goal of the season, a shorthanded marker, in a 3-2 overtime loss.
Given the timeline provided by Steen, Dube is going to be out until early December, if not longer.
The 28-year-old has appeared in three of the Blues’ first four games of the 2026-27 season. His goal against San Jose was his first point of the new campaign. He has a plus/minus of -1 while averaging 11:32 of ice time per game.
Dube is on his first NHL contract in three seasons, signing a one-year deal with St. Louis this past July, with a cap hit of $850,000. He spent last season with the Blues’ American Hockey League affiliate, the Springfield Thunderbirds, on a minor-league contract. He scored 20 goals and 17 assists for 37 points in 46 games. The Golden, B.C. native joined the T-Birds in December after he was cleared to play following the trial that saw him and four other players from the 2018 Canadian National Junior Team acquitted of sexual assault charges.
In 328 games in the NHL, Dube has scored 58 goals and 70 assists for 128 points.
The Blues (1-2-1) are hosting the Columbus Blue Jackets on Saturday night.
