The St. Louis Blues announced a fury of free-agent signings, bringing back forward Mackenzie MacEachern to a two-year, $775,000 contract while signing goaltender Malcolm Subban, Wyatt Kalynuk and Josh Jacobs all to one-year, $775,000 contracts.

MacEachern spent the 2022-23 season with the Carolina Hurricanes but played for their American Hockey League affiliate, the Chicago Wolves. He registered 11 goals and 19 assists for 30 points in 37 games. Prior to that, he was a St. Louis Blues product, spending time in Springfield and San Antonio. MacEachern made his NHL debut in the 2018-19 NHL season after initially being drafted No. 67 overall in the 2012 NHL Draft. He played 29 games and registered five points; although he was a scratch throughout the Blues’ miraculous Stanley Cup Playoffs run that saw them win Lord Stanley, his name was etched on the cup. Through 115 NHL games, he has notched 19 points.

Subban spent the 2022-23 season on the Buffalo Sabres farm team, the Rochester Americans, where he posted a 20-14-5 record to go with a .903 save percentage. Subban is a former first-round draft pick (No. 26 overall) by the Boston Bruins in the 2012 NHL Draft. He has appeared in 86 NHL games, posting a career 36-33-9 record.

Kalynuk split the 2022-23 season with the Abbotsford Canucks and the Hartford Wolf Pack of the AHL. While with the Canucks, he posted 17 points in 46 games. He notched two points in 15 games with the Wolf Pack. Kalynuk has skated in 26 NHL games, notching nine points.

Jacobs spent the 2022-23 season with the Colorado Eagles of the AHL, where he registered 10 points in 43 games. Jacobs was initially drafted No. 41 overall in the 2014 NHL Draft by the New Jersey Devils. He has skated in three NHL games.
