Stars’ Mason Marchment leaves game vs. Wild with upper-body injury
Dallas Stars’ forward Mason Marchment left Friday’s game against the Minnesota Wild with an upper-body injury, with the team announcing on social media that he would not return.

Late in the first period, forward Evgenii Dadonov took a shot from the point, which was deflected by forward Logan Stankoven and appeared to strike Marchment in the face.

Marchment required help off the ice and did not return.
Through 32 games this season, Marchment has 12 goals and 15 assists for 27 points and 35 penalty minutes. Now in his third season with the Stars, Marchment has scored 46 goals and 65 assists for 111 points in 181 games.
Marchment hit career highs in 2023-24, scoring 22 goals and 31 assists for 53 points in 81 games with the Stars. In the spring, he scored three goals and two assists for five points in 13 Stanley Cup Playoff games, helping the Stars reach the Western Conference Finals against the Edmonton Oilers.
Now in his sixth NHL season, the 29-year-old Marchment has 66 goals and 103 assists for 169 points in 272 career regular-season games with the Stars, Florida Panthers and Toronto Maple Leafs.
Going into Friday night’s game, the Stars were 20-13-0 with 40 points, fourth in the Central Division and holding onto the second Wild Card spot in the Western Conference.
Forward Matt Duchene leads the club with 30 points, scoring 13 goals and adding 17 assists. Marchment is second on the club in points with 27, while forward Jason Robertson is third with 23 points (seven goals and 16 assists).
