Stars place Tyler Seguin on IR; Logan Stankoven to return Monday against Utah

The Dallas Stars announced that they have placed forward Tyler Seguin on injured reserve, retroactive to December 1.

Seguin has tallied nine goals and 11 assists for 20 points to start the 2024-25 campaign. Seguin tallied 25 goals and 27 assists for 52 points in 68 games during the 2023-24 season.

The 32-year-old was originally selected No. 2 overall in the 2010 NHL Draft by the Boston Bruins, Seguin won the Stanley Cup with the Bruins in 2011 before being dealt in a seven-player deal to Dallas in 2013.

The six-time NHL All-Star has appeared in 972 regular season games, totalling 353 goals and 438 assists for 791 points. He is currently in the sixth year of an eight-year, $78 million contract. The contract has a cap hit of $9.85 million.

Meanwhile, the Stars also announced that forward Logan Stankoven would be retuning to the lineup for Monday’s game vs. Utah Hockey Club. Stankoven missed two games with an undisclosed ailment.

The Kamloops, B.C. native has tallied four goals and 11 assists fpr 15 points in 21 games this season. Stankoven racked up 14 points in 24 games last season with Dallas after he tore up the American Hockey League (AHL) tallying 57 points in 24 games with the Texas Stars.

Dallas also announced they have recalled Justin Hryckowian from Texas. Hryckowian has tallied five goals and 11 assists for 16 points in 17 games with Texas in the AHL this season.

Through 23 games Dallas is 15-8-0 and sit third in the Central Division.
