Tampa Bay Lightning forward Nikita Kucherov has won the Art Ross Trophy for the 2024-25 season after tallying 37 goals and 84 assists for 121 points in 78 games.

Among NHL leaders, Kucherov ranked tied for first in assists and 15th in goals. He also ranked first in power-play points, with eight goals and 40 assists for 48 points.

Colorado Avalanche forward Nathan MacKinnon finishes second in points for a consecutive season, racking up 116 points in 79 games.

This is Kucherov’s third Art Ross Trophy in his career so far. He last won the Art Ross Trophy in 2023-24 and in 2018-19, the same year he captured the Hart Trophy.

Earlier this season, Kucherov became just the 21st player in NHL history to hit the century mark five times in a season. Kucherov’s five 100-point seasons are the most by a Russian-born player in history. Pittsburgh Penguins’ forward Evgeni Malkin has three, while Washington Capitals’ captain Alex Ovechkin has four.

“He’s just been consistent throughout his life, working really hard,” Lightning goalie Andrei Vasilevskiy said of Kucherov earlier this season. “He almost didn’t take any days off during the offseason. He basically started skating right away, like probably a week after the season last summer. So just that dedication to work hard, work honest, it’s what makes him the best in the world.”

The 31-year-old has captured two Stanley Cup championships with the Lightning. He has tallied a whopping 357 goals and 637 assists for 994 points in 802 games with Tampa. Kucherov is one of two Lightning players, along with Martin St. Louis, to lead the NHL in points twice.

Kucherov looks to lead the Bolts in the first round of the 2025 Stanley Cup Playoffs when they face off against the Florida Panthers. The puck drops for Game 1 of their series on Tuesday.
