The DFO Prospect Show – Ep. 5: Eric Alarie
Eric Alarie joined Liam Horrobin on episode five of the Daily Faceoff Prospect Show. Alarie is a 6’1″ 198 lb scoring winger from Winnipeg, Manitoba, who plays for the Moose Jaw Warriors in the Western Hockey League.
Alaire just finished his second season in the WHL with Moose Jaw, but with the COVID-19 pandemic, there was a little twist added to the season. The Warriors and the other Saskatchewan and Manitoba teams in the WHL – Regina, Saskatoon, Brandon, Prince Albert, Winnipeg and Swift Current – entered a 24 game bubble in Saskatoon in mid-March.
The Warriors forward put together a great campaign topping his previous career highs. He led his team with ten goals and 20 points in 19 games, which helped raise his stock for the upcoming draft. Alarie was ranked as the 51st skater amongst North Americans in the most recent NHL Central Scouting rankings.
In his interview with Liam, the two of them discussed his experience in the bubble both on and off the ice, what he did to stay in game-ready shape while the WHL season was in limbo, and also what changed in his game from year one to two.
