The DFO Rundown Ep. 103: An interview with Bayne Pettinger

Welcome to another Friday edition of The DFO Rundown with Frank Seravalli and Jason Gregor! On today’s show, Frank and Jason were joined by NHLPA Certified Player Agent, Bayne Pettigrew.

Bayne is the first openly gay NHL agent operating at the moment after coming out just over a year ago. He spoke about breaking barriers, the support he received, and the new nonprofit organization he’s working on with Brock McGillis. Bayne also discussed his career with Hockey Canada and his experiences at tournaments like the Olympics.

Also on the show, the Montreal Canadiens and Edmonton Oilers both fired their coaches from their positions this week. Montreal opted to go with the inexperienced coach in Marty St Louis while Edmonton promoted their AHL head coach Jay Woodcroft. The most significant difference between the jobs is the pressure and Frank and Jason discussed the two new appointments.
