The DFO Rundown Ep. 234 – Alex DeBrincat Lands in Detroit
With some news breaking in the last 24 hours, we have a brand new episode of the podcast to break it all down. Tyler filled in for Gregor today as he and Frank talked about the Alex DeBrincat trade that finally came to fruition. It seemed like Detroit was always going to be the spot he landed, so what was the hold-up? Frank gave some insight into that.
From there, they talked about the situation involving Filip Zadina in Detroit and also what the Ottawa Senators could get up to with their $5m+ in cap space. This led to some speculation about where UFA forward Vladimir Tarasenko could land.
Some other news we got from the past week around the NHL involves Kings Captain Anze Kopitar signing a two-year extension with the club. The list of players filing for salary arbitration also came out this week. Frank gave us the cases that he finds the most intriguing.
They also hit on why the Calgary Flames have been so quiet this summer and the latest on the Tony DeAngelo to the Hurricanes trade that has been held up for quite some time.
