The DFO Rundown Ep. 245 – Atlantic Division Preview & Bedard Debuts
The first 48 hours of the NHL season have not underwhelmed. We’ve gotten some pretty big moments on the ice as Connor Bedard made his debut and both Auston Matthews and Brock Boeser popped home an opening night hat tricks. There was a lot for Frank and Jason to get to off the jump today.
Once they worked their way through the big headlines in the league, they dug into the Atlantic Division and wrapped up their season previews.
To start, they took a look at the Montreal Canadiens. Frank thinks the Habs are going to be much improved this season and may not even finish last in the division. That team, according to the guys, could be the Detroit Red Wings.
The Ottawa Senators and Buffalo Sabres are looking to end their playoff droughts this season but the vibes around the two are very different. The Sabres are locking up young pieces and are everyone’s favourite playoff pick, while the Senators are battling the salary cap ahead of opening night.
Will the Panthers miss? Are the Lightning still elite? How hard will the Bruins fall? Is this finally the year in Toronto? Frank and Jason answered those questions and more.
