The Toronto Maple Leafs have locked up star winger William Nylander, signing him to an eight-year deal that will go down as one of the richest contracts in the entire league. Frank and Jason started today’s podcast by breaking down that signing. Is it too much money? Does it hurt the Leafs chances to win a Stanley Cup? The guys debated those questions and more.

That bled into a conversation about how many true Stanley Cup contenders there are in the league. Frank’s list has gotten smaller during the course of the season and he explained some of his omissions while Gregor pushed back on Frank not including the likes of the Jets, Leafs, and Oilers.

Tyler popped in for a new edition of Fill in the Blank, where he talked to the guys about the Connor Bedard injury and the Calder Trophy race.

They wrapped up the pod with some talk about Lukle Hughes strong rookie season and Max Pacioretty’s return to the Capitals lineup.
