The DFO Rundown Ep. 352 – McDavid & Myers Face Suspensions &The Best Fits for J.T. Miller
Jason Gregor and Frank Seravalli are back with a fresh episode of The DFO Rundown as they looked back at everything that went down over the weekend in the NHL.
The big story is the end of the Oilers vs Canucks game on Saturday night as both Connor McDavid and Tyler Myers were ejected for cross-checks to the head of an opponent. Both now have hearings with the NHL DOPS, but should they be suspended the same number of games? The guys debated that and had a bigger-picture conversation about the state of officiating in the league.
They then got into the John Klingberg signing. Gregor gave some insight into where he could slot into the lineup and they talked about whether or not Klingberg can find his game with the Oilers.
They then got into what’s been going down over in the Eastern Conference. The Devils and Bruins are both slipping with the New York Rangers starting to find their game. They talked about the recent hot streak for New York and dug into some of their concerns with what’s happening in New Jersey.
That led to some conversation about the Simon Nemec comments. He didn’t ask for a trade, but he wants to play in the NHL, and the Devils have a loaded right side of their blueline. Could something give there? Frank gave his thoughts.
They also talked about Kappo Kakko’s hot start to his Kraken career. The guys had a contentious debate a few weeks ago when the trade first went down so they revisited their conversation and their thoughts on the deal.
Tyler then popped in for a new edition of Fill in the Blank where he asked the guys about best fits for JT Miller, the playoff chances for the Montreal Canadiens, and whether or not Jeff Skinner will finish out the year in Edmonton.
They wrapped with some talk about potential injury replacements for the 4 Nations Faceoff with guys like Jason Robertson and Zach Hyman both shooting the lights out.
