While the 2024-25 season is still young, a number of teams are making a statement with how things have gone thus far.

One of those teams is the Vegas Golden Knights. After falling short of successfully defending the Stanley Cup last spring and losing a couple of notable names this past offseason, the team from Sin City has had some jump out of the gate. Beginning with an 8-4 win over the rival Colorado Avalanche, Vegas has won each of its first three games, showing the team has both excellent structure and solid execution.

A number of players have contributed to the team’s early success, including Jack Eichel, who leads the team with seven points. Ivan Barbeshev has been leading the goal-scoring, having potted three goals through the three games.

On Tuesday’s edition of Daily Faceoff LIVE, Frank Seravalli and Tyler Yaremchuk discussed how impressive a start it has been for the Golden Knights.

Frank Seravalli: This team is still really good. They’re probably going to be better than they were last year. There’s some people sitting there saying, “Frank, did you not see that last season this team started 11-1-0?” Yeah, I did, and I know the wheels fell off a bit after the fact…This is a really good team that I think is much stronger. I think certainly something to keep in mind for a team like the [Edmonton] Oilers as they’re scuffling a bit is you’re not going to be overwhelmed by a six-point gap to this point, but you certainly want to get your act together and get it in gear because I think Vegas is a formidable team.

The way that they’re structured, even though they got the most unique cap structure in the league…I think some of those bottom six have the ability to hit some doubles and triples for them at that price point.
