New York Rangers sign Vincent Trocheck to seven-year contract
It looks like Vincent Trochek will be joining the New York Rangers in free agency.
Mollie Walker of The New York Post said on Wednesday morning that the Rangers plan to sign Trocheck to fill into Ryan Strome’s role as the team’s second-line center.

Trocheck, a native of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, was selected by the Florida Panthers in the third round of the 2011 NHL Draft. He made his debut with the Panthers in 2013-14 and quickly broke out as a high-quality scorer in the NHL.
The Panthers inked Trocheck to a six-year, $28.5 million contract in July of 2016. Four years later, he was traded to the Carolina Hurricanes for Erik Haula, Eetu Luostarinen, Chase Priskie, and Lucas Wallmark.
Trocheck scored 17 goals and 43 points in 47 games for Carolina in 2021 and he scored 21 goals and 51 points in 80 games for the Hurricanes in 2021-22. All told, the 29-year-old has scored 150 goals and 378 points over the course of 555 games in the NHL.
This signing indicates that Ryan Strome, who’s set to hit unrestricted free agency for the first time in his career, will not be re-signing with the Rangers.
