Toronto Maple Leafs forward Calle Järnkrok week-to-week with broken knuckle
An important depth player in The Six is going to be out for a little bit.
On Saturday, the Toronto Maple Leafs announced that forward Calle Järnkrok is week-to-week with a broken knuckle.
The Swedish-born winger was injured during practice on Friday after blocking a point shot. Järnkrok was visibly frustrated skating off the ice at the Ford Performance Centre.

— David Alter (@dalter) January 26, 2024The move allows veteran Ryan Reaves to jump back into the lineup for the Leafs’ matchup on Saturday night against the Winnipeg Jets. Reaves has been out of the lineup since mid-December.
The 32-year-old has typically been healthy for much of his tenure in Toronto, and has been a vital piece in the team’s bottom-six. Järnkrok injured his leg earlier this season, but did not have to miss any game time.
In 46 games this season, he has scored 10 goals and nine assists, with his last tally coming in the Leafs’ 4-1 win against the San Jose Sharks on Jan. 6. Arguably his best stretch came early last month, when Järnkrok scored two goals and three assists over a five-game span.
In 119 games with Toronto, he has amassed 30 goals and 28 assists, potting a goal and two assists in the team’s run to the second round of last year’s playoffs.
In 693 NHL games, the former Detroit Red Wing has notched 136 goals and 163 assists, registering 22 points in 86 playoff games.
The Maple Leafs (24-14-8) come into Saturday night holding the first Wild Card spot in the Eastern Conference. They are fourth in the Atlantic Division, one point back of the Tampa Bay Lightning for third, but just one ahead of the fifth-place Red Wings.
