Utah NHL team reveals jerseys, branding for 2024-25 season

Smith Entertainment Group (SEG) has revealed the jerseys and branding for the 2024-25 Utah Hockey Club.

The team name is to be revealed at a later date as part of the fan vote, and Utah HC (Hockey Club) is an option.

In a press release, the NHL stated “The NHL Board of Governors previously approved a plan pursuant to which the Arizona Coyotes assumed inactive status, and a new franchise is established in Utah where it will begin play for the 2024-25 season. As of today, the Coyotes have transferred their hockey assets – including their full Reserve List, roster of Players, draft picks and Hockey Operations Department – to the Utah franchise.”

Utah Hockey Club will wear jerseys that say “UTAH” on the front for the 2024-25 season. Once the team name is chosen, the team says they will spend the year “crafting a logo, mascot and other branding elements, which will debut for the 2025-26 NHL season.”

Last week, SEG announced that the van fote was down to six names, the six names are: Blizzard, Venom, Mammoth, Outlaws, Yeti and Hockey Club (Utah HC).

“More than 520,000 fans participated in the first phase of our multi-step process to help name Utah’s NHL team, and there were six names that were resounding fan favorites – accounting for 60 percent of the total vote,” the team announced in a press release last week.

“Now, it’s time for round two, and we just decided to go ahead and include all six of those options in this second voting pool to see which ones will come out on top as fans continue narrowing it down”

“As everyone knows, Utah is a vibrant and thriving state, and we are thrilled to be a part of it,” NHL Commissioner Gary Bettman said in a league statement. “We are also delighted to welcome Ashley and Ryan Smith to the NHL family and know they will be great stewards of the game in Utah. We thank them for working so collaboratively with the League to resolve a complex situation in this unprecedented and beneficial way.”
