What a comeback.

The Vancouver Canucks made history Tuesday night versus the Dallas Stars, becoming the first team in National Hockey League history to erase a three goal defeict in the final minute of regulation.

It all started at the 1:00 mark of the third period when Marcus Pettersson picked up a rebound and fired a tape-to-tape pass to Aatu Raty, who snapped the puck past Casey DeSmith.

Thirty seconds later, with the Canucks trailing by two, Filip Hronek worked the blueline giving a pass down low to Conor Garland who was able to feed a net front Pius Suter who tapped home the puck to put the Canucks within one.

Then in dramatic fashion, Captain Quinn Hughes helps set up Suter, who snaps a shot from the circle and ties the game with just six seconds left for his second goal of the night.

Of course, the game would then head to overtime and it was Canucks forward Kiefer Sherwood out muscling Matt Dumba and putting the puck in the back of the net to give the Canucks the comeback victory, 6-5, keeping their playoff hopes alive.

Vancouver now improves to 36-29-14 with 85 points and four games remaining. They trail the Calgary Flames by two points and the Minnesota Wild by six points for the last Wild Card seed.

The Canucks are slated to face the 47-27-4 Colorado Avalanche on Thursday, the 42-29-7 Minnesota Wild on Saturday, the 20-47-10 San Jose Sharks on Monday and they will cap the season off facing the 47-22-8 Vegas Golden Knights.
