CanucksArmy senior writer and host of the Canucks Conversation podcast David Quadrelli, joined Daily Faceoff Live to chat with Frank Seravalli and Tyler Yaremchuk about the Canucks season, who the unsung heroes are and how Rick Tocchet has reshaped the Canucks.

Quadrelli touches on how Brock Boeser has become the biggest unsung hero, notching a league-leading 21 goals, tied with Auston Matthews; but also talks about how J.T. Miller has found his game again this season and is back in full swing.

Miller currently has a team-leading 15 goals and 27 assists for 42 points in 29 games this season. He ranks second in goals behind Boeser. After a rough season in 2022-23, where Miller was involved in heavy trade talks and Canucks brass was castigated for Miller’s contract extension, it’s refreshing to see him back to his old self and racking up numbers on the scoresheet.

Frank Seravalli: J.T. Miller is leading the Canucks in scoring and six months ago we were talking about him potentially being traded to the Pittsburgh Penguins and a guy whose contract was sort of being raked over the coals in Vancouver.

David Quadrelli: Yes I think he should be listed as an unsung hero. He just didn’t really care, the team wasn’t playing well, the team was a gongshow in terms of management and for the last two years, he just didn’t care. He didn’t back check and he didn’t want to play hard. Now we’ve seen him play hard and play like this in the past, as a Canuck even. You’re right, he does deserve credit and I’m not trying to put the spotlight on anyone else but I just don’t think anyone saw this coming with Brock Boeser and I know nobody saw this with Sam Lafferty.
