Canucks place Noah Juulsen on injured reserve
Vancouver Canucks general manager Patrik Allvin announced Wednesday that the club has placed defenseman Noah Juulsen on the injured reserve, retroactive to Jan. 14.
Allvin also announced that defenseman Elias Pettersson and forward Linus Karlsson have been recalled from the Canucks’ American Hockey League (AHL) affiliate the Abbotsford Canucks.

The Surrey, British Columbia native is in the final year of a two-year, two-way contract worth $1.55 million that he signed in July 2023.
Juulsen was initially drafted No. 26 overall in the 2015 NHL Draft by the Montreal Canadiens. The 26-year-old made his NHL debut during the 2017-18 regular season after a successful major junior tenure with the Everett Silvertips in the Western Hockey League. He was named to the WHL First All-Star Team in 2016-17 as he collected 12 goals and 22 assists for 34 points in 49 games while donning the “C” with the Silvertips.
Pettersson was selected in the third round of the 2022 NHL Entry Draft and is yet to make his NHL debut. The 20-year-old blueliner has one goal and 12 assists in 36 AHL games this season with Abby.
Karlsson made his NHL debut last season appearing in four games for Vancouver, this season he has appeared in two. Karlsson has spent the majority of the season with Abbotsford where he has tallied 12 goals and 18 points in 17 games.
On the season, Vancouver sits 20-16-10, one point shy of the Western Conference’s second wildcard seed and 11 points back of the Oilers who rank second in the Pacific Division.
