Which players should the Canucks look to move this offseason?

The Vancouver Canucks are coming off of one of the worst seasons in their franchise’s history, one that has set in stone that the team needs to rebuild. While they missed out on adding a franchise talent by losing the lottery, they’ll still look to move on from some players, not only to add assets to help the rebuild, but to also reset the culture after a nightmare past two seasons.
But who will the Canucks look to move on from? Irf Gaffar joined Daily Faceoff Live to talk about which players on Vancouver may find new homes for next season.
Irf Gaffar: I think that there’s three players to look at for the Vancouver Canucks right now. Jake DeBrusk, I think that’s the obvious one. I think he will be moved at some point.
Elias Pettersson, that one’s a little bit more difficult to move just because of the size of the contract and what you would have to bring back. I think the Canucks would move mountains to try and get off that deal. I really do. If they get a deal that they like for that player, I think that it would be in the interest of both parties to absolutely do that.
And then Filip Hronek. I think that if they get something that they love, he’s probably your best asset. You’re at least getting a first-round pick for this player if you get something like that in front of you.
Now, what I know is that they haven’t had an offer for any of their players yet. We’re now at draft day morning here in Vancouver, right around 9:30. No offers for any of their players that they have yet, but obviously that could change. I think that getting off contracts is good and changing the culture in that room still. I think that there still needs to be people that have moved out of that room, and you still need to get some fresh new voices to grow with all the young guys.
