Jack Eichel sets Golden Knights’ single season points record

Vegas Golden Knights center Jack Eichel has etched his name into the record books.
In registering an assist Thursday versus the Columbus Blue Jackets, the point marked the 79th of the season for Eichel, the most by a Golden Knights skater since the franchise’s inception in 2017-18.
Through 63 appearances with the Golden Knights this season, Eichel has notched 20 goals and 59 assists. In all, the feat also put Eichel only three back of his 82-point career high that came as part of the Buffalo Sabres during the 2018-19 campaign.
Originally chosen second overall by Buffalo in the 2015 NHL Draft, the 28-year-old native of North Chelmsford, Mass., has totaled 602 career contests between the Sabres and Golden Knights in which he has collected 231 goals and 361 assists for 592 points.
Moved to the Golden Knights in November 2021 in exchange for fellow forwards Alex Tuch and Peyton Krebs plus conditional first- and second-round draft choices, Eichel has since seen 228 showings with Vegas in which he has tallied 92 goals and 146 assists to sit sixth all-time in franchise scoring with 238 points.
An offensive standout during the Golden Knights’ run to the Stanley Cup in 2023, Eichel led all playoff participants with 26 points counting six goals and 20 assists coming in 22 contests.
Per PuckPedia, Eichel is in the seventh year of an eight-year pact that carries a $10-million annual average value. Eichel is eligible to become an unrestricted free agent in the 2026 offseason.
For the Golden Knights, entering Thursday action, the club sat atop the Pacific Division with a 38-19-7 record, five points ahead of the second place Edmonton Oilers. The Golden Knights have qualified for the postseason in six of the franchise’s seven seasons highlighted by two trips to the Stanley Cup Final.
