Vegas Golden Knights re-sign Pavel Dorofeyev to one-year contract

The Vegas Golden Knights have re-signed Russian forward Pavel Dorofeyev to a one-year contract. According to CapFriendly, the contract will have an average annual value (AAV) of $825,000. He will have a minor-league salary of $825,000.

Dorofeyev spent the 2022-23 season split between the Golden Knights and their American Hockey League (AHL) affiliate, the Henderson Silver Knights. While with Vegas, Dorofeyev notched seven goals and two assists for nine points in 18 games. He added nine goals and eight assists for 17 points in 32 AHL games with Henderson.

The Nizhny Tagil, Russia product, was initially drafted No. 79 overall in the third round of the 2019 NHL Draft by the Golden Knights. During his draft year, he registered 17 goals and 31 points in 19 MHL contests with Stalnye Lisy Magnitogorsk. He was named to the MHL All-Star Game. Dorofeyev also won a silver medal with Russia at the 2019 IIHF World Juniors, scoring three goals in seven games. Dorofeyev spent two more seasons in Russia, playing in the MHL and the Kontinental Hockey League (KHL), arguably the top men’s hockey league outside of the NHL. In 72 KHL appearances, he collected nine points.

The 22-year-old made his AHL debut in 2020-21, collecting 13 points in 24 games and adding two assists in five AHL Playoff games. He made his NHL debut the following season against the Seattle Kraken in the season’s opening game. He scored his first NHL goal on March 12, 2023, against the St. Louis Blues, Dorofeyev, playing in his fourth game this season, used his face to deflect William Karlsson’s rebound past Blues netminder Jordan Binnington.

In 20 NHL games so far throughout his career, Dorofeyev has collected nine points. He has added 45 goals and 82 points in 119 AHL games.
