Vegas Golden Knights sign Viliam Kmec to three-year, entry-level contract.
Vegas Golden Knights General Manager Kelly McCrimmon announced that the team has signed defenseman Viliam Kmec to a three-year, entry-level contract.
Kmec was invited to the team’s 2024 Development Camp in July.

— Vegas Golden Knights (@GoldenKnights) September 23, 2024Kmec spent the 2023-24 season with the Prince George Cougars of the Western Hockey League (WHL) where he compiled nine goals and 25 assists for 34 points in 58 regular season games, he ranked second on the Cougars in points for defensemen.
The 20-year-old wrapped up his third season in the WHL after coming over from Slovakia in 2021-22. Kmec has tallied 18 goals and 62 assists for 80 points in 180 games with Prince George over parts of three seasons. Kmec has added 10 points in 27 postseason contests.
Kmec helped lead the Golden Knights rookies to a 3-0-0 record at the 2024 Rookie Faceoff in Los Angeles. Kmec notched one goal and two assists in three games.
The Kosice, Slovakia native represented Slovakia at the 2024 World Junior Championship where he recorded four assists in five games. Kmec has represented Slovakia at the World Juniors for three years in a row now, he helped Slovakia capture a silver medal at the 2021 Hlinka Gretzky Cup.
