Meanwhile, Martin Fehervary will be out week to week with a lower-body injury. Anthony Mantha and Nick Jensen will both be game-time decisions for tonight’s matchup against the Ottawa Senators with lower-body injuries.
Plethora of injury updates from the Caps:

Dowd – Upper-body, day-to-day
Mantha – Lower-body, game-time decision
Fehervary – Lower-body, week-to-week
Jensen – Lower-body, game-time decision
Oshie was injured during Friday’s matchup against the Tampa Bay Lightning midway through the third period of the game after appearing to tweak something in his body when making a sharp turn to protect the puck. Oshie left the game with a secondary assist on the 3-1 Washington goal and a shot in 16:37 of ice time as the Capitals went on to beat the Lightning 5-3.
Dowd suffered his injury in last week’s 6-2 win over the New Jersey Devils. Dowd’s last shift came towards the end of the first period, which ended with a collision with Devils’ forward Tyler Toffoli. He logged 6:20 minutes of ice time. Dowd has eight goals and 16 points this season and is currently ranked No. 8 on Frank Seravalli’s Trade Targets Board.
Meanwhile, Fehervary got hurt in the opening minutes of the Feb. 19 game against the Montreal Canadiens, as he wiped out behind the Capitals net just two shifts into the game. The 24-year-old has been having the best season of his career with two goals and 10 assists for 12 points in 47 games.
Both Mantha and Jensen are game-time decisions for tonight’s game against Ottawa. Russian rookie Ivan Miroshnichenko has been recalled from the AHL’s Hershey Bears. Miroshnichenko has 25 points in 47 games in the AHL this season and has appeared in four games with the Caps.
