The Washington Capitals have signed forward Brandon Dahaime to a two-year, $3.7 million contract. According to the terms of the deal, the average annual value (AAV) is worth $1.85 million.

Duhaime spent the 2023-24 season split between the Minnesota Wild and Colorado Avalanche where he tallied five goals and eight assists. Duhaime added one goal in 11 Stanley Cup playoff contests.

He was on a one-year deal with an AAV of $1.1 million. He received a little pay bump when he re-signed with the Wild last July, as he made just $750,000 in each of the last two seasons and now sees a major pay increase. In 193 career games, the 27-year-old has scored 19 goals and 16 assists, playing in 12 playoff games for Minnesota.

The 27-year-old was oringally drafted by Minnesota in the fourth round, No. 106 overall in the 2016 NHL Draft.

Capitals continue to stay busy on free agency day, re-signing Connor McMichael to a two-year, $4.2 million contract extension while also dealing with the depth in Hershey re-signing Ethen Frank, Mitchell Gibson and others.
