Folks: it’s showtime.

Patrick Kane, the three-time Stanley Cup champion, Hart Trophy-winning, Conn Smythe Trophy-winning, Art Ross Trophy-winning, limousine riding, jet flying, wheelin’ n’ dealin’ future Hall of Famer, will make his Detroit Red Wings debut against the San Jose Sharks on Thursday night at Little Caesars Arena.

After months of speculation as to where Kane would sign, he inked a one-year deal worth $2.75 million with the Red Wings last week. The 35-year-old is coming off a 57-point season split between the Chicago Blackhawks and the New York Rangers, one that saw Kane’s lowest offensive production since the lockout-shortened 2012-13 regular season (55 points in 47 games).

On Thursday’s episode of Daily Faceoff LIVE, Colby Cohen and Tyler Yaremchuk discuss Kane’s debut with the Red Wings, and what Detroit fans should expect out of the one they call Showtime.

Tyler Yaremchuk: It’s showtime in Hockeytown. Patrick Kane will make his debut with the Red Wings this evening. Last season, he had five goals and seven assists for 12 points in 19 games with the Rangers last season. Do you think that with his surgery and him presumably 100 percent healthy, are we getting a point-per-game Patty Kane or a step down?

Colby Cohen: I don’t think you’re going to get point-per-game Kane tonight, but within two months, you’re getting point-per-game Kane. I watched him during his last few seasons in Chicago, and the things he’s done with one hip is unbelievable. His hockey IQ is as high as anyone’s in the NHL.

I think it’s going to take him some time, but as long as he has that lateral movement, the comfort of teammate Alex DeBrincat, the power play, those are areas where he’ll build confidence.
